South African Cuisine

South African delicacies brings together all the culinary traditions of South Africa. It is characterised by way of its influence of African, European and Asian cultures. South African delicacies is inspired by using that of the indigenous peoples of South Africa such as the Khoisan, Xhosas, Zulus and Basotho. The exclusive kitchens of settlers and immigrants, however also that of slaves, had a principal influence on the country's cuisine.

 South Africans are recognized for their taste for barbecue, referred to as braai in Afrikaans. Meat occupies a prominent role in South African cuisine.
